To understand why Stag’s Leap wines, particularly their Cabernets, are held in such high regards, you have to go back to May 24, 1976. It was on this date that Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars made history when their 1973 S.L.V. Cabernet Sauvignon placed first in the Judgement of Paris blind tasting, besting four top-ranked French Bordeaux and forever changing the way the world view California wine. Today, Stag’s Leap continues to be recognized as one of Napa Valley’s crowned jewels, as they consistently produce high-quality and collectible wines that continue to rival the best wines of the world.
