Manhattan Eastside
You certainly can’t go wrong with this classic cocktail, first crafted in the 1800s. However, we gave this bourbon staple a twist at Ruth’s Chris by swapping out the sweet vermouth for Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur. Plus, we garnish the drink with Amarena black cherries to elevate the status of this handcrafted cocktail.
As for the flavor profile, the sweet undertones of the bourbon, the bitter and floral notes of the ginger, and the fruitiness of the black cherries all pair perfectly with a steak. In particular, the Manhattan Eastside provides an appealing contrast to rich steak cuts like the bone-in Cowboy Ribeye.
Wild Berry Sidecar
Whiskey isn’t the only option for a steak-friendly cocktail this fall. Try our Wild Berry Sidecar at Ruth’s Chris! Of course, the star of the sidecar is brandy (ours features cognac in particular), which has similar notes to bourbon but with more fruity and floral undertones. And in addition to the orange and lemon flavors you’d normally encounter in a sidecar, the fresh blackberries lend juiciness and tartness.
Blueberry Spiced Mojito
Made with fresh mint leaves, our mojito serves as a great palate cleanser for your steak dinner at Ruth’s Chris. That said, we use spiced rum instead of traditional white rum and ginger ale instead of plain soda water to add a kick. What screams “fall” even more than spice? Furthermore, the muddled blueberries lend a welcome touch of sweetness to add balance to your savory steak dinner.
Dirty Wheatley Martini
Last but not least, consider ordering this vodka martini with your steak. It’s as classic as James Bond himself! No matter if you want it shaken or stirred, the martini can stand up to the richness of red meat. Plus, we garnish our dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives, which pair nicely with your favorite steak.
